lampshades abstract patterns

The Nanco x Kitsch Republic collection

I am excited to be working with the maker brand, Kitsch Republic to reproduce some of my favourite paintings and drawings onto a limited edition range of home furnishings.

I’m a firm believer that art doesn’t have to sit on a wall,  and by printing artwork onto lampshades, it reveal the layers and complexity in the work and offers a new and accessible way to bring art into people’s homes.

Having selected artworks from my archive that reflects the current trend for bold and playful abstract interiors, Kitsch Republic then creates artwork that is printed onto lampshades and cushions.

When I paint I am very much connecting to a place and its energy, the colour palette, the light, the forms within the architecture or nature all seem to come together in a feeling that I try to translate using paint on a surface.  It’s so interesting to see these paintings in a different context and for the light to illuminate the layers of the painting.

Preview taking place at the first retail stockist, Lighting from Lit in Bramhall, Stockport on Thursday 4th November 5.30-7.00pm.  RSVP to reserve your place on the guest list.
